BREAD OF LIFE

MARK 14:22-24  “[22] And while they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying: Take, eat, this is My Body. [23] Then He took the cup, and after He had given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. [24] And He said to them: This is My Blood, the blood of the new testament, which is poured out for many.”

The Lord’s Supper is an institution of Christ, the only requirement to take part in it is that we must have accepted Christ as our Saviour. We must acknowledge that He died in my place, gave His body on the cross in my place and paid for my sin with His Blood.

1 CORINTHIANS 11:27  “So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.”

Before I take communion, I must examine myself, I must make sure that I have no unforgiveness or bitterness in me, I must also confess my sin and leave it. If I don’t do it, I bring judgment on myself. if I don’t want to take communion because I have sin in my life, I give a higher place to sin than to the forgiveness of God. Then I have also condemned myself. Communion can be used anywhere in the house or where two or three gather. The place does not matter.  That it is done in memory of Jesus Christ’s death for the forgiveness of my sins matters.  Also read 1 CORINTHIANS 11:20-37
