The availability of Jesus

As a congregation we have been working through the Gospel of John and today discussed the most wonderful prayer of all time. It was time for John chapter 17, a portion of Scripture that I have been looking forward to with great excitement. In the 43 odd years that I have been studying the Bible this prayer of Jesus as our high priest, has always opened new revelations about His love for us. Verse 21 is especially powerful as it speaks about a unity among believers that is so compelling that it impacts on the society around us. We know that the early church enjoyed supernatural manifestations of God’s power as it is recorded in the book of Acts. in chapter 2 verse 1 and chapter 5 verse 12. This happened because the believers where in prayer and united in their minds. They were also obedient to the Word of God. We have also seen many miraculous breakthroughs in our centre in students lives, for exactly the same reason. The unity that releases miraculous power can only come about when believers have a revelation of the ever present availability of Jesus. He prayed that this must happen through the revelation that as the Father and the Son are one and in each other so are they revealed in us. This revelation comes through us believing what the Word really teaches. During a meeting yesterday with some black brothers who have the same mind as us, we discussed the reason why the Church at large is so powerless in the post modern world. We came to the conclusion that the absence of the miraculous power of God is purely attributed to the infiltration of human philosophy such as psychology into the mindset of so many Christians. We concluded that there are Christians and then there are Bible believing Christians. To many Christians Jesus seems to be far away, either in the past, or still on a cross, or somewhere in the future or up in Heaven. He is not close on hand and always present. Those of us who believe every word in the Bible know that Jesus is in us. We live and breathe with Him for He fills our thoughts and desires and is ever present. Wherever we are He is.

Joh 17:20 And I do not pray for these alone, but for those also who shall believe on Me through their word,
Joh 17:21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me.

We believe the Bible needs to be brought back into our schools, our Parliament, the SA Defence and Police, the courtrooms and every other major community. Gone will be corruption and crime and once more we will be able to sleep in peace. God has made His Son available to all and sundry who can read, hear or see. He is the Word of God and with today’s technology He is available to almost everyone on the planet Earth. He wants to dwell, live, and have His being in you!  If you love Jesus, hug your Bible! Invite Jesus into your life right now.
