There are also many deliverance songs that quote Scripture. Singing and speaking the Scripture out loud to yourself really works miracles. Do not be concerned that others may think you are crazy. I would much rather be a fool for Jesus than a fool for Satan. He will do anything to stop you from quoting Scripture because it contains the truth of God which he simply cannot handle. This is all part of submitting to God and resisting the devil, in which case he will flee.

Being a testimony to Truth means laying down your sinful selfish human nature so that the life and Spirit of Jesus can manifest in your daily walk. Absorbing the Scriptures enriches your thoughts and lays up a store in your spirit for God to use whenever He pleases. Those Scriptures are living powerful words that change people and circumstances. 2 Peter 1:19-21 tells us

“We also have a Word of prophecy, to which you do well to take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Daystar arises in your hearts, knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture came into being of its own private interpretation. For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.”

This is the reason why Paul prefers the gift of prophecy above all the other gifts because it brings unsaved sinners to Christ. Now the apostle John got a most powerful word from an angel of God who came to deliver a message. It has to do with the power of testimony. Revelations 19:10 says

“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See, do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus, is the spirit of prophecy.”

Show me a powerful Christian and I will show you someone who is not ashamed to tell others about the wonderful things Jesus is busy doing in his/her life. People who testify are people who are growing and going in the Lord. They can pour out testimony after testimony because their walk in the Spirit of Jesus is real, relevant, and remarkable. It is a supernatural life, way above the sorry life of addicts who are grovelling in the dark every day trying to score enough bucks for the next fix.

Why are there so many testimonies of Christians who become leaders in their community after having a history of drugs? Their therapy lies in bringing healing to others. In our regeneration centres, this is one of the core values we teach every new student, coming off drugs. You are now becoming part of the solution; you are no longer the problem. Jesus has taken care of that on the cross for you.

By applying principles of Biblical Therapy, using the Scriptures to teach, rebuke, correct, and train in righteousness, House Regeneration counsellors show anyone who has suffered from addiction how to fully understand why they do what they do and how to bring their belief systems in line with the Word of God.
